YOMRA YOUTH COUNCIL

AIMS:
YOMRA is a Youth Council in Yomra, Trabzon - Turkey. YOMRA was founded in September 2004. YOMRA YOUTH COUNCIL is facilitates international exchanges for young people, promoting youth initiatives to develop society in general; exchanging experiences will carry the individual development phase of youth to a different dimension.

OBJECTIVES

• To raise the role and participation of young people in state’s political, economical and social life
• To enlarge and develop the youth movement
• To create appropriate conditions for young people’s self-expression

ACTIVITIES

1. YYC is cooperating with municipality and other NGO’s around Trabzon.
2. YYC is implementing cooperative solutions to common problems related with environment, development of the country at national and local level.
3. YYC is assisting the youth while adapting the emerging socio-cultural structure and social life.

What we have done until so far?

The Global Footsteps conference has been great until so far! I could not have imagined that I would have really enjoyed the conference that much. Thanks to the organizers, the program is perfectly prepared, while we are getting to know each other and Jamaica, we have also covered many issues from consumerism to human impacts on environment. The interactive methods used in training made us learn, discuss and exchange ideas efficiently. Lastly, I have never been very close with the locals in the countries I have visited before. Now, I have a huge amount of friends from very different backgrounds, from shepherds, to shopkeepers. I am very enthusiastic about turning back and share my experince for future events!
